Holy Week Worship
Palm/Passion Sunday - April 5th @ 11:00 am
Maundy Thursday - April 9th @ 7:00 pm
Good Friday - April 10th @ 7:00 pm
Holy week worship marches us through the final days of Jesus’ life. We begin on Sunday morning remembering Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. But then the rest of our Sunday worship is an interactive retelling of his last supper, betrayal, arrest and trial, and crucifixion.
Maundy Thursday worship centers on Jesus’ final night with his disciples. Our worship begins with a “Living Last Supper” - a drama enacted by members of Our Father that focuses on the disciples wondering if they could possibly betray Jesus. We then receive Holy Communion and watch as the altar is stripped bear. We leave in silence, waiting for worship to continue the next day.
Good Friday worship centers on Jesus’ death. Our worship is a traditional Tenebrae service that uses darkness to emphasize the solemness of the day. It is a powerful evening of contemplating the depths of God’s love for us, and ends with Jesus dead in the tomb. We leave in silence, waiting for worship to continue on Easter Sunday.
