God’s Work, Our Hands
'“God’s Work, Our Hands” is a slogan of the ELCA and it speaks to how we see ourselves engaging with God in ministry. The things we don’t aren’t our own efforts - it’s us participating with God in the work that God is doing in the world (it’s just being done with our hands).
Each September we have a God’s Work Our Hands Sunday where we (along with most other ELCA churches) dedicate the day to a particular act of service. The past several years we’ve served a meal to Greensboro’s First Responders to show our appreciation for their work. It also provides an opportunity to build further relationships with the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and call center workers in our neighborhood.
